Western powers calls on Libyan parties to work together towards elections

UN envoy to Libya updates Security Council on flood disaster ‘beyond imagination’

The US, UK, Italy, Germany and France have voiced their support the the UN’s call for Libya’s leaders to “work together toward a binding political settlement that paves the way for national elections and a unified government.”

“A consensus driven process that has buy-in from all sides offers the best path for elections and a future of peace, unity, stability, and prosperity for the Libyan people,” reads a joint statement by the western powers.
