A course in Benghazi to enhance the role of women in community reconciliation

Benghazi – A training course was held. Its title was “Mechanisms of Community Reconciliation and the Role of Women in its Success.” It took place at the Arab Medical University for Science and Technology. The location was Benghazi city. This initiative aimed to entrench a culture of peace. It also sought to enhance community harmony in Libya. The National Commission for Libyan Elders and Notables organized it. Al-Rawnaq Organization for Women and Children collaborated.

Rafia Faraj Al-Barnawi is the Chairperson of Al-Rawnaq Organization for Women and Children. She stated that empowering women in community reconciliation is a fundamental pillar. It helps build a cohesive and stable society. Women possess important skills in dialogue and mediation. These skills contribute to resolving conflicts. They also promote values of tolerance and peace.

She added that the course covered several specialized topics. Key topics included constructive dialogue skills. Community mediation techniques were also discussed. Practical experiences were reviewed. These experiences highlight women’s essential role. Women are key partners in community reconciliation processes.

Najla Al-Farsi, the organization’s Executive Director, facilitated the course sessions. She managed discussions. She also organized dialogue among participants. This made the event interactive. It helped in exchanging experiences and ideas.

Boubakr Al-Sharif is the Head of the Reconciliation Committee. He is part of the National Commission for Libyan Elders and Notables. He expressed his appreciation for this initiative. He praised the growing role of women. They support reconciliation efforts. He emphasized the importance of civil society institutions. They must cooperate with community bodies. This cooperation is crucial for establishing stability and peace.

The event concluded with the distribution of participation certificates. This highlighted the importance of continuing such quality initiatives. These initiatives enhance community capabilities. They also support national reconciliation paths. This ultimately reinforces security and stability.
