Former Interior Minister, Fathi Bashagha, signed late last month a new lobbying deal with the American firm BGR Group, which is worth 300,000 U.S. dollars in accumulated value, after his last contract with Brownstein Hyatt was abruptly terminated days after signing it for unknown reasons.
U.S. Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, said Libyans do not wish to see a repeat of the civil conflict of the past, and the best hope for stability lies in the elections scheduled for December.

Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the General Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), visited the eastern city of Marj on Thursday, where he held a rally to “underscore the city’s role in fighting terrorism”, according to a statement by Marj Security Directorate.
