More than 455 thousand new people have registered on Friday to vote in the upcoming general elections on December 24, announced the High National Election Commission (HNEC) on Saturday.
A hundred Nigerians stranded in Libya were evacuated on Friday, with another set of 100 stranded Nigerians to be returned home in the next 10 days, the Nigerian Mission in Tripoli said.

Libya’s House of Representatives has an “alternative plan” if the country fails to hold the presidential and parliamentary elections on December 24, House Speaker Aguila Saleh told the press on Saturday.
Al-Magarha tribe in southern Libya said in a statement If its son Abdulla Al-Senussi, intelligence chief of late Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddaf, is not released from Mitiga prison in Tripoli within 72 hours, the tribe would have to block the Man-Made River water.
