Education Directorate in Al-Zawiya Center celebrates the National Day of the Social Worker with broad official and educational participation

Education Directorate in Al-Zawiya Center celebrates the National Day of the Social Worker with broad official and educational participation

Al-Zawiya – Al-Zawiya city hosted celebrations. These were for the National Social Worker Day. The event took place last Sunday. National Social Worker Day is celebrated annually on February 2nd. The Al-Zawiya Center Education Oversight organized the event. Many official and educational figures attended. Educational and service institutions from various Western Region areas participated.

This honored the social worker’s pivotal role. Social workers support the educational process. They enhance psychological and social stability in educational institutions.

The occasion saw attendance from various leaders and officials. These included heads of school health and social service departments. The general counsel was also present. Faculty members from Al-Zawiya University and Sabratha University attended. Representatives from the Social Workers Syndicate participated. Directors of social service and school health offices from educational oversight bodies were also there.

The events began with official speeches. Dr. Adel Al-Kaseh, Head of Education Oversight for Al-Zawiya Center, spoke. He affirmed that social workers are a key link. They connect schools and the community. He emphasized the importance of supporting them. They must be empowered to perform duties professionally. This helps address behavioral and psychological problems in schools.

Salma Al-Suluki, a member of Al-Zawiya Central Municipal Council, praised social workers’ efforts. She highlighted their role in instilling national and humanitarian values. She confirmed the Municipal Council’s support. The council supports all initiatives promoting stability in educational institutions.

Dr. Mohsen Al-Kabeer, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Oversight Affairs, spoke. He confirmed the Ministry of Education’s commitment. The ministry will support social service and school health offices. He appreciated the responsible professional contributions of social workers. These contributions are vital amidst challenges facing the education sector.

Dr. Fawzia bin Ghashir, Director of the Social Service and School Health Department, also delivered a speech. She expressed her appreciation for the national and humanitarian role of social workers. Social workers operate within the school community. She called for strengthening partnerships. These partnerships should be between local authorities and educational institutions. She stressed the importance of continuous qualification. Professional performance development is also crucial.

The celebration featured introductory visual presentations. These highlighted Al-Zawiya Center Municipality and Education Oversight. Key activities of the Social Service and School Health Office were reviewed. There were various artistic and educational segments. These included national musical pieces. The event also had theatrical and dialogue performances. These discussed the social worker’s role in supporting the educational environment. They addressed behavioral issues in schools. Examples included bullying and promoting discipline.

The ceremony also included honoring segments. Several outstanding social workers were recognized. They came from various educational oversight bodies. Supporting entities were also honored. These included Al-Zawiya Central Municipal Council. Education Oversight was recognized. The Ministry’s Social Service and School Health Department was honored. Youth Hostels in Al-Zawiya and the Security Threats Combatting Agency were also recognized.

In a statement to the Libyan News Agency, Dr. Fawzia bin Ghashir spoke. She affirmed the National Social Worker Day celebration’s goal. It aims to raise community awareness about the profession’s importance. She noted her early involvement in designating this day. It was established on February 2, 2002. Social workers bear significant responsibilities within schools. This is especially true during Libya’s past crises. Therefore, supporting families and students is essential.

Professor Salma Al-Kartaal, spokesperson for Al-Zawiya Center Education Oversight, also spoke. She confirmed the celebration’s success. It resulted from extensive cooperation between the Municipal Council and supporting bodies. She praised the pioneering role of social workers in schools.

The celebration concluded with an honoring segment. Several outstanding social workers were recognized. They came from various educational oversight bodies. This acknowledged their professional contributions. It also recognized their continuous efforts. These efforts serve the educational process. They support psychological and social stability in schools. The honoring also included several supporting entities. These entities contributed to the event’s success and organization. This gesture reflects a culture of acknowledging efforts. It also strengthens partnerships between educational and service institutions.

The ceremony concluded in a festive national atmosphere. It embodied the spirit of cooperation and joint work. It affirmed the pivotal position of social workers. Social workers are fundamental pillars in building society. They are essential for enhancing the education system.
