First meeting of the 'Legislation and Follow-up' team to implement the Sustainable Development resolution at the House of Representatives

In implementation of Resolution No. (171) of 2025, issued by the President of the Diwan of the House of Representatives, “Abdullah Al-Masri Al-Fudail,” regarding the formation of working groups to follow up on programs and plans related to the Sustainable Development Goals at the national level, the “Legislation and Follow-up” team held its first meeting at the Diwan’s headquarters in the city of Benghazi.

The meeting was held within the framework of activating Resolution No. (171) of 2025 and assigning specialized teams to follow up on sustainable development files at the national level.

According to the official website of the Council, the attendees discussed establishing a general mechanism and work plan for the team to ensure the organization of tasks and distribution of responsibilities.

It was agreed to divide the team into two smaller teams: the first to identify and review Libyan legislation related to the fields of sustainable development, and the second to review the reports of relevant regulatory bodies.

The resolution stipulated the formation of five teams to support the National Committee for Sustainable Development in the House of Representatives in carrying out its work. They are: Analysis and Alignment, Legislation and Follow-up, Data and Reports, Partnerships and Funding, and Visual and Mental Identity.
