Head of the Libyan High National Elections Commission (HNEC) and the British Ambassador to Libya reviewed in a meeting Monday in Tripoli developments of the electoral process, preparations for the upcoming stages, and the general agenda of the Commission, according to HNEC.
“In support of the international community for the electoral process scheduled for December 24, HNEC Head, Imad al-Sayeh, received this afternoon the British Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, and her accompanying delegation, at HNEC headquarters,” the Commission said in a statement on Monday.
“Harndull affirmed her government’s support for the upcoming Libyan elections,and commended the efforts and preparations made by HNEC in the planning and implementation stages of the electoral process, to reach a professional model in the electoral field that achieves the highest internationally applicable standards,” the statement pointed out.
