IOM: 193 migrants brought back to Libya in a week

In the period of the 10th  and 16th of July, 193 migrants have been disembarked back on Libyan shores, revealed the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Monday.

IOM released its weekly data update yesterday, which showed that, so far in 2022, over 10,000 migrants were brought back to Libya. The majority of them are men but the number also include 400 minors and nearly 700 women.

The UN-affiliated organization has long maintained that Libya is not safe place for migrant due to persistent abuse in detention centers run by armed groups.
