Libya records 5,694 new cases, 14 deaths of COVID-19

The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Sunday that 5,694 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 34 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 14 others died of the virus, while 824 have recovered during the same reporting period.

136 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.

The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 425,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 391,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.

The virus has claimed the lives of 6,007 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 994,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses. Over 18,000 people received booster doses.
