The National Center of Meteorology announced on Sunday that a total lunar eclipse will be visible this evening in Libya, and will also be seen in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and parts of eastern South America, Alaska, and Antarctica.
The Center explained that the moon will begin to enter the penumbral stage at 5:28 PM, followed by the start of the partial eclipse at 6:27 PM, while the city of Tripoli will witness the moonrise at 7:20 PM.
The total eclipse is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM and reach its peak at 8:11 PM, with the total eclipse phase ending at 8:52 PM.
Meanwhile, the partial eclipse phase will continue until 9:56 PM, and the penumbral stage will end at 10:55 PM.
According to the Center, the duration of the eclipse in all its stages will last about five hours and twenty-seven minutes, while the total eclipse phase will last only one hour and twenty-two minutes, making this event a special opportunity to witness a rare astronomical phenomenon in Libya’s sky.
