Benghazi – The Prime Minister has issued Decree No. (197) of 2025, ordering the reassignment of national employees from withdrawn foreign companies, as well as from struggling and dissolved national companies, to work in the administrative units of the state’s administrative apparatus, according to the needs of the institutions and the qualifications of the employees.
The decree comes after intensive efforts led by the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation over a full year, aimed at finding fundamental solutions for the situation of a large segment of workers affected by the suspension or withdrawal of their employers. The decree authorizes the Minister of Civil Service to take the necessary administrative and legal measures to complete the reassignment process, in coordination with the Ministries of Planning and Finance, to ensure the inclusion of the salaries of those concerned in the 2026 general budget.
The decree stipulated the necessity of matching the reassignments with the actual needs of the administrative units, and emphasizing the qualifications and experience of the employees, in a way that contributes to achieving functional efficiency and professional stability.
The Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation praised the efforts of the government agencies that contributed to the completion of this file, affirming its full readiness to complete the procedures for receiving the transferred employees and to work on settling their situations in an orderly and transparent manner.
The Ministry also valued the support of the General Command of the Armed Forces and the Office of the Prime Minister in following up on this matter until the decree was issued, stressing that this step represents significant progress in the path of improving the living and professional conditions of the workers.
