Benghazi – The Higher Committee for Medical Colleges in Libya has delivered its final proposed draft to Faraj Al-Araibi, Director of University Affairs at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The handover took place during an official meeting in Benghazi, where participants discussed the draft’s main features and ways to implement and activate it.
The meeting focused on how to utilize the draft to improve education in medical and health sciences colleges across Libyan universities. The goal is to enhance the quality of academic training and education in medical fields.
Committee Chairman Al-Sadiq Hassan attended the meeting, along with Suad Al-Awami, the committee’s second deputy for health sciences colleges, and committee secretary Idris Hamad Atiyallah.
The final draft is one of the most significant achievements of the Higher Committee. The committee aims to establish a unified vision for developing medical and health sciences colleges nationwide. This effort includes reviewing academic and regulatory bylaws and updating curricula to align with modern scientific standards.
Through these initiatives, the committee seeks to boost the quality of educational outcomes and raise the competence of graduates to meet the needs of Libya’s health sector. The goal is also to strengthen the ability of local professionals to compete in both national and international labor markets.
Participants in the meeting emphasized the importance of completing the necessary procedures to approve and activate the draft in the coming phase. They stressed the need for these steps to support the development of medical education and raise academic performance standards at Libyan universities.
