Muhammad Mazab, a member of the High Council of State, said on Saturday that the country’s warring parties in the eastern and western regions are competing over positions of power, warning that war would be imminent if the security institutions continue to be divided.
During an interview with Russian news agency Sputnik, Moazeb ruled out that a defense minister would be appointed at the present time. He also anticipates that no defense minister would be named until after the general elections in December.
“The crisis in Libya is based on the security factor, and the continued division in the security institutions makes all scenarios predictable, including the return of war again,” he said.
