The leader of Libya’s Presidential Council arrived today in Tobruk, which will be the starting point of a tour across other cities based in the country’s eastern region of Cyrenaica, the council announced.
Libya’s Presidential Council said it will intervene to ensure that the general elections are held on time if the House of Representative and High Council of State fail to come to an agreement on electoral legislations.
Mohamed al-Menfi, chairman of the Presidential Council, said on Saturday he would urge candidates who are planning to run for the general elections not to take part unless there was consensus on the vote’s legal framework.
