Saad Ben Sharada is a member of the State Council. He stated that the ongoing conflict is between the Head of Government and the Head of the Presidential Council. This dispute is no longer a secret. Ben Sharada believes its essence is not about state interests. Instead, it revolves around power and personal interests.
Ben Sharada explained this on his personal Facebook page. He noted disagreements between the two parties. These disagreements focus on several issues. They include the representation of international missions. They also concern the authority for appointing ambassadors. Who decides on ministerial appointments is another point of contention.
Ben Sharada added a point. “We never see them disagree on real economic reform,” he said. “Nor do they dispute restoring state sovereignty.” This indicates their disagreements. According to him, these do not touch on essential national interests.
