Faisal Karsh, an administrative official at Al-Qalaa Rural Hospital, announced a medical convoy is present at the facility. It includes a selection of national doctors. Consultant Nabil Al-Arabi Qarada leads the team. A visiting doctor from Germany contacted several doctors. They agreed to visit Al-Qalaa. Their purpose is to examine patients. They will receive medical cases in the Jabal Nafusa region.
Karsh clarified this in a statement to Libya Al-Ahrar channel. Al-Marsad newspaper monitored the statement. This initiative received sponsorship from Aram American Oil Company. It was a collaboration with Al-Qalaa Rural Hospital. The hospital and municipality provided supervision. Residents of the city also contributed. Their participation helped make this charitable campaign a success.
He added that nine doctors were part of the agreement. Consultant Khalifa Al-Bakoush was among them. A group of optometrists from Al-Quds Ophthalmology Center also participated. Their number was approximately 25 technicians. On Sunday, about 570 cases from various age groups were attended to. All cases received medical services from the convoy.
Karsh continued, stating that time was limited. Work hours extended from 12 PM to 8:30 PM. Efforts were made to admit very critical and moderate cases. The turnout in the region was significant. This was particularly due to a lack of specialists. Missing specialties included ophthalmology, cardiology, dermatology, and ENT.
He indicated that based on agreements, other convoys would be organized. This is necessary due to severe overcrowding. Attempts will be made to coordinate with other hospitals in the region. The target population in Jabal Nafusa is very large.
Karsh noted it is difficult to make these convoys regular. Clinics tend to monopolize doctors. Doctors are also drawn to private practices. Public and rural hospitals nationwide lack medical personnel. Providing doctors for all hospitals remains challenging.
