Pyongyang – The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Wednesday that Pyongyang tested a mix of tactical ballistic missiles, artillery shells, and precision-guided cruise missiles. These weapons are designed for modern warfare. Leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the tests.
The agency stated the tests evaluated a “special mission warhead” for tactical ballistic missiles. They also assessed the efficiency of long-range artillery rocket launchers. The accuracy of AI-guided tactical cruise missiles was also evaluated.
KCNA quoted North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. He said the tests showed successful upgrades to weapons and automated launch systems. These upgrades are designed to suit conditions for modern warfare. This enhances their combat applications.
He added that the tests specifically confirmed the combat readiness of cruise missiles. These missiles will be deployed to artillery units near the border with South Korea. They are equipped with precise navigation systems. They also feature AI-guided control. These missiles can strike targets up to 100 kilometers away.
Reuters news agency reported on North Korea’s ongoing efforts. Pyongyang is steadily upgrading its tactical and conventional arsenal. It has vowed to deploy these near the South Korean border.
