Benghazi – The Khalifa International Humanitarian Works Foundation concluded its humanitarian campaign. This campaign was titled “For Those Who Are Most Deserving.” It operated under the directives of Major General Saddam Haftar. He is the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the honorary president of the foundation. The campaign reached over 5,000 beneficiaries. These beneficiaries were in 34 areas across Libya. This initiative expands humanitarian work. It strengthens the foundation’s field presence in vulnerable environments.
The campaign distributed food baskets. These baskets were designed according to World Food Program standards. They ensured a minimum daily nutritional requirement of 2100 calories per person. The focus was on the most needy families. This was determined by the foundation’s approved vulnerability assessment indicators. This ensured accurate and organized delivery of aid to deserving groups.
The campaign partnered with local organizations. These included the Libyan Relief Commission and the Scouts and Girl Guides movement. Zakat funds and charitable societies also participated. This maximized aid distribution to beneficiary families. It specifically targeted remote and hard-to-reach areas. International standards for packing and distribution were observed. This ensured fairness and efficiency.
This initiative addresses difficult economic and living conditions. Remote areas face increasing challenges. These include rising prices and reduced purchasing power. Pastoral activities and livestock farming are also affected. This is due to desertification and high fodder prices. Many families have lost their primary income sources. Their living conditions have worsened significantly.
The campaign covered a wide range of areas in eastern Libya. These included Al-Mulaytaniyah, Zawiyat Al-Arqoub, Emsaed, and Jaghbub. It then extended westward to Ajdabiya and Al-Baydan. The campaign reached Ras Lanuf. Teams also proceeded southeast. They reached the oasis regions of Jalu, Awjila, and Ajkhara. From there, they went to Tazirbu and Kufra.
Field teams extended their efforts across the rugged desert. They reached the far southwest. They passed through Sabha, Qira Al-Shati, Traghen, Al-Humaira, Umm Al-Aranib, and Al-Hara’iq. The journey concluded in Ubari. This humanitarian trip highlighted the immense challenges overcome. It ensured aid delivery to beneficiaries in remote areas. These areas are far from major cities.
Beneficiaries emphasized the importance of this aid. Access to subsidized essential goods is difficult. They highlighted its vital role. The aid alleviates daily burdens. It helps confront worsening living crises.
The foundation stressed its commitment to humanitarian work. This work extends beyond emergency aid. It includes fostering integration with local institutions. It also involves collaboration with charitable societies. This ensures sustainable support. It expands its scope to reach more beneficiary families. These families are located throughout Libya.
