Benghazi – The poet and writer, Major General Khaled Al-Mahjoub, has released the second edition of his poetry collection “An Event That Did Not Happen,” as part of the activities of the fourth Benghazi International Book Fair at the National Library, after the first edition, released about two years ago, sold out.
Al-Mahjoub noted, in a statement to the Libyan News Agency, that the collection represents a life journey gathering his feelings towards the homeland and humanity, and includes texts that address issues of Arabism and the concerns of the nation.
He added that the sincere word still finds its way to readers, stressing that the demand for the first edition reflects the success of the literary experience.
He clarified that all the poems in the collection are close to his heart, expressing his particular admiration for poems about the homeland and praise for the noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
The release of the second edition of “An Event That Did Not Happen” reflects the significant interest in Libyan culture and poetry, and affirms the continuing role of writers in enriching the national literary scene.
