Masoud Suleiman: The National Oil Corporation aims to raise production to two million barrels daily despite challenges

Masoud Suleiman is the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC). He participated in the Libya Energy & Economy Summit 2026. Suleiman affirmed Libya’s tangible achievements in oil and gas production. This occurred despite various challenges. Global price fluctuations were among the main challenges.

Suleiman elaborated on the NOC’s strategy. His statements were reported by the corporation’s media office. The NOC aims to boost production to 1.6 million barrels daily. This is the first phase of the strategy. The medium-term goal is 2 million barrels per day.

The NOC Chairman met with various company representatives. These included global and local oil firms. He stated that the NOC is an “independent professional institution.” The corporation places Libya’s interests above all other considerations. These discussions took place during the summit’s side events.

The Libya Energy & Economy Summit 2026 started Saturday morning. The event is being held in Tripoli. It will continue for three days. The summit sees broad international participation. Representatives, experts, and specialists are attending. They represent major global energy companies. Several energy ministers from different countries are also present.

The summit’s theme is “Achieving Energy Growth through Infrastructure and Investment.” It focuses on infrastructure investments. These investments aim to boost Libya’s energy production capacity. The summit also seeks to attract international capital. This capital would support investments within the country.

The summit includes high-level roundtable sessions. These sessions connect Libyan officials with major companies. Participating companies are American and international. They specialize in oil, gas, and energy. The goal is to discuss cooperation and partnership opportunities. Bilateral meetings are also organized between investors and government institutions.
