Ghadames – Mohamed Jamal Hosn, the director of the Daraj branch of the National Safety Authority, confirmed complete control over the fire that broke out yesterday, Sunday, in the Al-Jinan farms located within the Ghadames municipality.
In a video statement published by the branch on its Facebook page, Hosn explained that firefighting teams faced significant challenges while conducting extinguishing operations, including narrow roads leading to the fire site and a lack of available resources. Nevertheless, the personnel managed to contain the situation and put out the fire.
He noted that the fire caused extensive losses after the flames consumed large areas of crops, pointing out that the scale of the damage is described as “major.”
He added that the branch has left some of its personnel at the incident site as a precaution for any emergency or the possibility of the fire reigniting.
