Misrata – The investigative authority in the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Misrata took urgent action. This followed the discovery of forged family records. The forgery occurred in the Civil Registry Office in Zamzam. It allowed 326 individuals to obtain national identification numbers.
These numbers illegally granted them citizenship rights. The authority ordered the suspension of these national ID numbers. They are now under review. All extracts based on the forged records must be re-evaluated. The office manager was ordered arrested. He will be investigated for the violations. Necessary legal procedures will be implemented.
