Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks with his Emirati counterpart, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Moscow next Monday; The Libyan file will be on the table for talks between the two parties.
Spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said Saturday that the meeting will be on the agenda of the Emirati minister, who will pay a working visit to Moscow, and will address the development of bilateral cooperation, as well as the international and regional situation, especially the situation in Libya, Syria, Yemen, and the Arab-Israeli settlement, according to Sputnik.
Lavrov and Abdullah bin Zayed discussed friendship and strategic partnership relations, regional and international developments, and issues of common interest in a call between them on February 23.
Moscow earlier expressed its support for designating Fathi Bashagha by the Libyan Parliament to form a new government, calling for respect for the parliament’s choices, and expressing its hope that the postponement of the elections would not escalate military and political tensions.
