Riyadh – Saudi Arabia gave the military attaché at the Iranian embassy 24 hours to leave the country. His assistant was also given 24 hours. Three other mission staff members received the same order. They have all been declared undesirable persons.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement. It affirmed its commitment to take all necessary measures. This is to preserve its sovereignty and security. It will protect its lands and airspace. This also applies to its citizens and residents. The kingdom’s capabilities and interests will be safeguarded. These actions are based on Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
The Ministry’s statement confirmed the notification. Saudi Arabia informed the Iranian military attaché to leave the Kingdom. The assistant military attaché also received this notification. Three other mission staff members were similarly told to depart. They have been deemed undesirable persons. All must leave the Kingdom within 24 hours.
The Ministry unequivocally condemned the blatant Iranian attacks. These attacks targeted Saudi Arabia and Gulf Cooperation Council states. Several other Arab and Islamic countries were also affected.
The Ministry’s statement affirmed Iran’s continued actions. Iran continues to target Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty. It targets civilians and economic interests. Diplomatic missions in the Kingdom are also targeted. These actions represent a clear violation of international conventions. They contradict principles of good neighborliness. They also disrespect state sovereignty. Furthermore, they violate the Beijing Agreement. UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026) is also breached. These actions go against Islamic brotherhood. They defy the values and principles of Islam. These are principles Iran constantly advocates.
The Ministry also noted the continuous Iranian attacks. These attacks mean further escalation. They will have a profound impact on current relations. Future relations will also be severely affected.
