U.S. Diplomat and Libyan Oil Official Discuss Strengthening Energy Sector Cooperation

U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Jeremy Berndt met with acting Chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corporation Masoud Suleiman in Tunis.

Berndt stated it was an honor to host the meeting, during which they discussed ways the United States and U.S. firms can help Libya strengthen its energy sector. The talks focused on achieving Libya’s goals of boosting oil production.

The Chargé d’Affaires emphasized the NOC’s role as a vital Libyan institution, stating that its independence and technocratic integrity are essential for Libya’s economy and prosperity.
