Beirut – UN Secretary-General António Guterres launched an urgent humanitarian appeal. He made the appeal from Beirut, Lebanon’s capital, on Friday. It seeks funding to support Lebanon. The country faces a worsening displacement crisis. This crisis is due to the ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and the Israeli occupation.

The announcement came during a conference. Representatives from UN agencies and donor countries attended. The event took place at the Lebanese government’s headquarters. Guterres stressed the appeal aims to enhance urgent humanitarian response.

This will help those affected by the conflict. The Secretary-General explained the requested funding. It will expand essential humanitarian aid. This aid covers the next three months. It includes food, clean water, and healthcare. Education, protection services, and other vital needs are also covered.

The number of displaced people is increasing. Humanitarian conditions are worsening in several Lebanese areas. He noted these aids are crucial. They ensure continued humanitarian support. This support goes to those most affected by the war’s repercussions.
