Al-Ghuraifa – Member of the Libyan House of Representatives, Fatima Souei, has appealed to the General Command of the Armed Forces, represented by the Deputy Commander-in-Chief, First Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa, and the Military Works Authority, for urgent intervention to save the Faculty of Education in Al-Ghuraifa, which is suffering from a significant deterioration in its infrastructure and educational equipment.
Through her official Facebook page, Souei expressed her regret over the continued neglect of this important educational institution in the southwest, noting that the faculty has been and remains one of the most important institutions to have graduated hundreds of teachers in the region.
She confirmed that the faculty has faced a complete halt in maintenance work for years, while the lecture hall remains incomplete. The science laboratories suffer from a severe shortage, and the faculty even lacks a complete physics laboratory.
She also noted that the library is nearly empty of books and references, while desks and chairs are dilapidated, and student files are stored in improper conditions, reflecting a lack of attention to this vital facility.
Representative Fatima Souei called on the Military Works Authority in the southwestern region to expedite the completion of maintenance and outfitting, and to provide basic educational necessities to ensure the educational process continues with a minimum level of quality.
She concluded her appeal by stressing that supporting education in the southern regions is a national responsibility, and that saving the Faculty of Education in Al-Ghuraifa requires genuine will and urgent intervention to preserve the students’ future and to elevate the standard of education in the region.
