The western Libya city of Gharyan is witnessing daily increase of COVID-19 cases, beyond its public hospital’s capacity to house more patients, the Gharyan Hospital manager said on Saturday.
During his remarks to local press, Khaled Al-Zuwait said that medical personnel in Gharyan are reluctant to work, for fear of infection or transmitting the virus to their families. Thus, causing the hospital to have one doctor per each 15 patients.
Al-Zweit deemed the health situation in the city’s hospital “out of control”, and called on the Ministry of Health to “rapidly intervene” to curb the surge of cases.
