A Turkish military plane was interpreted today while conducting a surveillance mission over the coast of Libya from Derna to the Gulf of Sirte, according to data provided by Flightradar 24.
It is “very unlikely” that Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will be able to go to the international summit on Libya which France is hosting on November 12, Italian news agency Nova reports.
The purpose of today’s visit to Turkey by Foreign Minister Najla Mangoush is to try to “smooth the corners” with the Turks regarding the withdrawal of their forces ahead of upcoming ‘Libya Stability’ conference on October 21 which is hosted by Tripoli, Italian news agency Nova reports.
Libya’s Foreign Minister Najla Mangoush will arrive in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Thursday, October 14, according to the Turkish foreign ministry.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is paying an official visit to Libya, the first of its kind since September 2011, during which he is likely to meet in Tripoli with the Head of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel Hamid Dbeibeh.
